About Me

Get to Know Me

Hello!  My name is Andrew Sawusch, and I am running for Council District 1 in the upcoming November 2026 election.

Originally from the Chicagoland area, I have been a resident of Erie since 2016, previously a resident of Broomfield for 7 years. I graduated from CU Boulder in 2009, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with dual concentrations in Management and Marketing.

I am a business operations and marketing professional, with experience growing businesses from the ground up. Currently, I serve as the Head of Customer Operations and Onboarding at a data software company. As a solutions-driven individual, I use a holistic-view approach to identify and resolve issues that deliver results, which are both effective and efficient.

I am married to my amazing wife, Gabrielle, and am the doting father of our son, Maxwell, and husky fur-baby, Koda.

As a 10-year resident of the Town, Erie has been a wonderful place to work, live, and raise my family. That is why I have served the Town for the past 6 years - currently as the Planning Commission Chair, formerly a Council Member, and a Planning Commissioner before that - to give back to the community I love.

Over this time, I have witnessed firsthand the strain our rapid growth has had on us.

Congested roads, skyrocketing utility rates, and lack of water available for new development are clear signs that our infrastructure and services haven't been able to keep pace.

The Town needs proven, steady leadership to protect the quality of life that we have all come to love. Without decisive action, funding for basic services like road maintenance will be at risk within the next 2 to 3 years.

I am running for Town Council to listen to residents, be straightforward about where we stand, and make the tough decisions when needed for our Town's future.

As Council Member, I will bring leadership that addresses:

  • Growth Management
  • Sustainable Infrastructure & Resources
  • Financial Resiliency
  • Resident-First Governance & Transparency
Childhood and High School
I am originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago. During my childhood, I was a three sport athlete, playing hockey, soccer, and baseball in highly-competitive travel leagues. While in high school, I lettered in two sports as a member of both the Varsity Hockey team and the Varsity Golf team. After graduating from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL, I moved to the beautiful state of Colorado.
College Years
I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, enrolling in the Fall of 2005 as a Marketing Major within the Leeds School of Business. At college, I was a member of the Varsity Hockey team, trying out and making the team as a Freshman. From September 2006 through January of 2008, I was the External Vice President for my fraternity.  During this time, I as well started working with the University of Colorado Interfraternity Council (IFC), the governing body for fraternities at CU-Boudler. My college career culminated in the Spring of 2009, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a dual emphasis in both Marketing and HR/Talent Management.

Present Day
I moved from Broomfield to Erie in 2016, where I live with my wife, son, and husky. We enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors in the gorgeous weather that Colorado has to offer. Our favorite activities include golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.

Currently, I am the Head of Customer Operations and Onboarding for a data software company. As a business professional with experience in building and growing both businesses and brands, my operational mindset allows me to view organizations in a holistic view, honing in on unique opportunities that create effectiveness and efficiencies for an organization.

I have been involved in the Town for the past 6 years as a Planning Commissioner (2020-2022), Council Member (2022-2025), and again on the Planning Commission (2025-present) where I currently serve as Chair.

In the 15 years since moving to Colorado, it has truly been amazing to watch the town blossom to its current population of over 42,000 residents, while still maintaining its small town charm.

Professional Experience:

I am a business-minded and solutions-driven individual, with a background in business operations and marketing. Currently, I am the Head of Customer Operations and Onboarding at a data software company. My position includes providing oversight of our customer operations, running our customer onboarding team, providing cross-departmental project management, process and workflow strategy redevelopment, technology and systems administration, as well as data analysis and business analytics.

Previously, my experience has included growing 5 businesses and brands from the ground up, creating the business-wide vision, goals, and strategies for successful growth. I served concurrently as both the Director of Operations and Director or Marketing, I provided operational oversight, improved team efficacy, implemented best practice methods, as well as managed the alignment between budgets, projects, partners, and vendors. In these roles, my cross-functional leadership ensured that operational priorities were maintained, while also redeveloping departmental procedures in order to reduce costs and increase overall success.
